Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, this workshop provides the perfect opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in a supportive and encouraging environment.

What to Expect
Kick off the morning with a refreshing short trail run on the Owl Trail. This short run will give you a chance to test those climbing legs! The run will be suitable for all fitness levels, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Following the run, join us for an extensive information session designed to equip you with valuable insights to elevate your trail running journey. We will cover a variety of essential topics, including:
Gear Essentials: Learn about the must-have equipment for trail running, from the perfect pair of shoes to the most functional apparel. Discover what works best for different terrains and weather conditions.
Nutrition Tips: Fuel your body the right way! We’ll discuss optimal nutrition strategies to enhance performance, manage energy levels, and support recovery during your trail runs.
Training Methods: Understand the various training approaches tailored for trail running, including build-up techniques, interval training, and long-distance preparation.
Coaching Philosophies: Gain insights into different coaching styles and find out how you can apply these philosophies to develop your own training regimen.
All participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and connect with the Southern Summits Trail Coach, fostering a community built on passion for trail running.
The workshop will be conducted by Colleen Browne, a UESCA-certified ultra running and sports endurance nutrition coach. Additionally, Colleen is a registered mountain guide who is enthusiastic about sharing her expertise on local trails, well-known South African trail races, and various international ultra trail events.
